WHY THIS STATEMENT MATTERS

Every year, thousands of people - even children — risk their lives crossing oceans, deserts, and borders with one hope in mind: to build a better life.

Not because they want to, but because they have no choice. They flee violence, persecution, poverty, war. They leave behind everything they know — not for luxury, but for survival.

And yet, instead of welcome, they often find rejection. Instead of safety, they find suspicion. Instead of compassion, they’re labeled as illegal. .

But let us be clear:

Seeking a better future is not a crime. Being human is not illegal. This image represents the silence, the depth, the danger - but also the courage, the resilience, and the dignity of those who cross.

Let’s make sure their stories are not drowned. Let’s raise our voices — so loud from the skies, that they echo in the deepest parts of the ocean. NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL.
